QR codes are the heart of your loyalty program. This guide covers everything from printing to placement to troubleshooting scanning issues.

Understanding QR Code Types

Business QR Code

What it does: Customers scan this to join your loyalty program and record visits

  • Generated automatically when you create your program
  • Never expires - use the same code forever
  • Same code for everyone - all customers scan the same QR code
  • Safe to print publicly - no sensitive information

Customer QR Codes

What they do: Customers generate these to prove they're ready to claim rewards

  • Generated by customers when their card is complete
  • Expires in 30 seconds for security
  • Unique per customer - each person gets their own code
  • You scan these to process rewards

Getting Your Business QR Code

Step 1: Access Your QR Code

  1. Go to your Business Dashboard
  2. Click "Loyalty Programs" in the sidebar
  3. Click "View QR Code" on your active program
  4. Your QR code appears instantly

Step 2: Download Options

High Resolution (Recommended):

  • Perfect for printing
  • 1000x1000 pixels
  • PNG format with transparent background

Standard Resolution:

  • Good for digital displays
  • 500x500 pixels
  • Smaller file size

  • Includes "Scan to join our loyalty program" text
  • Ready to print as-is
  • Business name included

Printing Your QR Code

Size Guidelines

Minimum Size: 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm)

  • Smallest size that scans reliably
  • Good for receipts or business cards

Recommended Size: 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm)

  • Easy for customers to scan
  • Works well on counters or tables

Large Display: 8 x 8 inches (20 x 20 cm)

  • Perfect for walls or windows
  • Visible from several feet away

  • Use high-contrast colors (black QR on white background)
  • Print on flat, non-reflective surfaces
  • Ensure clear, sharp printing quality
  • Test scan before displaying publicly
  • Include simple instructions like "Scan to Join"

❌ DON'T:

  • Print on curved or wrinkled surfaces
  • Use low contrast colors
  • Make it too small (under 2 inches)
  • Cover with glass or plastic that creates glare
  • Print on colored backgrounds

Processing Customer Rewards

When customers are ready to claim rewards:

  1. Customer shows you their phone with their reward QR code
  2. You scan it using your phone camera (goes to Clientify.app)
  3. Confirm the reward on your screen
  4. Click "Process Reward" button
  5. Give them their reward (free coffee, discount, etc.)
  6. New card starts automatically for their next visits

Troubleshooting Common Issues

QR Code Won't Scan

Check These First:

  • Size: Is it at least 2x2 inches?
  • Quality: Is the print clear and sharp?
  • Lighting: Is there enough light to scan?
  • Surface: Is it flat without glare?
